Keith Slack went to work for Lockheed Martin after graduating from OSU, then moved to IBM where he worked from 1965 to 1997. He worked his way through the ranks at IBM working on low-end and mid-range systems and developed a very strong systems background.
His leadership positions included director of Rochester Engineering Laboratory from 1989 to 1993, vice president of advanced product development and general manager of microprocessor products at IBM Microelectronics where he had responsibility for providing industry-leading microprocessor technology.
Slack was one of four site general managers (in Rochester, Minnesota) who sponsored and won the first Information Processing Industry Malcolm Baldridge Award in 1991. He also earned a master’s in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University. He is a member of the OSU School of EECS Industrial Advisory Board and serves as a trustee and elder of his church.
